DONNAFUGATA SURSUR GRILLO
Back Porch Somm recently received a bottle of Donnafugata SurSur Grillo to try. Since we tend to drink a lot of wines from Washington State, it was fun to try something completely different.
We’d never tried a Grillo varietal before. It’s a Sicilian grape that to us had some characteristics similar to a Pinot Grigio.
It was an easy drinking wine. Crisp and fruity, perfect for a hot afternoon.
You really didn’t need to pair this wine with anything. It’s great on its own, however, it would be fantastic with a light salad, fresh fruit and cheese plate, or a picnic lunch!
At the end of the day, we liked it enough to give it a 4-glass rating, meaning, I’d definitely try it again.

Back Porch Somm’s are not professionals. We are simply your average wine drinkers who know what we like and what we do not.
Just because we rate a wine a certain way does not mean you will love it or hate it as well.
