DONNAFUGATA SURSUR GRILLO
Back Porch Somm recently received a bottle of Donnafugata SurSur Grillo to try. Since we tend to drink a lot of wines from Washington State, it was fun to try something completely different.
We’d never tried a Grillo varietal before. It’s a Sicilian grape that to us had some characteristics similar to a Pinot Grigio.
It was an easy drinking wine. Crisp and fruity, perfect for a hot afternoon.
You really didn’t need to pair this wine with anything. It’s great on its own, however, it would be fantastic with a light salad, fresh fruit and cheese plate, or a picnic lunch!
At the end of the day, we liked it enough to give it a 4-glass rating, meaning, I’d definitely try it again.
